Dearmailo for Mac
Personal email,
without the guesswork.
Follow this guide from installation to your first carefully reviewed campaign. Dearmailo requires macOS 15 or later and an active account in Apple Mail.
01
Install and open Dearmailo
- Unzip the download.Double-click the ZIP file supplied by Long Lasting Apps.
- Move Dearmailo to Applications. This gives macOS a stable location for the permissions you approve.
- Open Dearmailo.Apple’s security check should identify it as software from Schmidt Service Partner AB.
- Complete the five setup cards. The first card—downloading Dearmailo—is already complete.
There is no public download button yet. Testers receive the latest notarized ZIP directly from Long Lasting Apps.
02
Connect Apple Mail
Dearmailo needs two separate macOS permissions. It never receives your Mail password.
- Allow Accessibility first. In the first setup card, open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility and enable Dearmailo.
- Restart Dearmailo when asked.macOS may only expose the new Accessibility permission after the app has restarted. Dearmailo explains this and lets you reopen it directly.
- Connect Apple Mail.Back in Dearmailo, choose Connect Apple Mail and approve macOS’s Automation prompt.
- Choose a default sender.Additional addresses and aliases can be managed later.
- Create a signature and test address. The test address can be your sender address or another inbox you can check.
03
Import contacts and build lists
Open Contacts in the left sidebar. Contacts are stored once and can belong to several reusable lists.

Supported contact files
- Excel:
.xlsx; Dearmailo reads the first worksheet. - Delimited text:
.csv,.tsv, or.txtwith a header row. - Required: an email column. Name, first name, last name, title, company, customer number, and sender are supported.
- Custom fields: other columns can be retained and inserted as variables.
A recommended header row is:
Customer number;First name;Last name;Title;Company;Email;Sender- Choose Import.Select the contact file or drag it into the import area.
- Match the columns.Confirm the suggested email, name, company, customer number, and sender mappings.
- Review problems.Invalid and duplicate addresses are clearly marked. Use the automatic merge only when the values do not conflict.
- Name the list. The same contacts can later be dragged into other lists without creating copies.
04
Write the campaign
Choose a saved contact list, select the sender addresses, then write the subject and message.

Useful variables
{{Name}}{{Förnamn}}{{Efternamn}}{{Titel}}{{Company}}{{Kundnummer}}{{Email}}Variable names match the labels used in Dearmailo. Swedish field names such as {{Förnamn}} and {{Kundnummer}} work in campaigns written in any language.
- Insert a variable from the Variable menu. You can copy the same token into the subject line.
- Use Command–B, Command–I, and Command–U for bold, italic, and underline.
- The default email style is Helvetica 12. Advanced font, size, and color controls remain available when needed.
- The selected campaign language also selects the matching signature for each sender.
- Attachments can be chosen in the file picker or dropped directly into the attachment area.
05
Review and send a test
Dearmailo replaces the variables separately for each recipient. Move through the recipients and inspect the finished result—not only the template.

- A warning appears when an email address is missing or a variable used by this campaign has no value.
- Open in Mail creates a visible draft for inspection without sending it.
- A test email is recommended, but the Require before sending choice belongs to you.
- When several senders are selected and testing is required, each sender needs its own current test.
06
Schedule and send
- Open Send.Dearmailo checks usable recipients, sender volume, suppression entries, and the sender domain’s available SPF and DMARC records.
- Review pace and limits.Keep the cautious defaults unless your mail provider has confirmed different limits.
- Start now or schedule. For a scheduled start, choose the date, time, and time zone.
- Leave the Mac ready.Dearmailo and Apple Mail must remain open, the Mac must stay awake, and Mail should not be used during the run.
- Watch the status.Dearmailo separates sent messages, waiting recipients, and items that need attention.
Dearmailo sends individual messages through your own account and uses cautious pacing. It cannot guarantee inbox placement; content, recipient relationship, domain reputation, and the mail provider still matter.
07
Troubleshooting
Dearmailo cannot control Apple Mail
Open System Settings › Privacy & Security. Confirm Dearmailo is enabled under both Accessibility and Automation › Apple Mail. If Accessibility was just enabled, quit and reopen Dearmailo.
A sender address is missing
Add the address or alias to the relevant account in Apple Mail first. Then reconnect or refresh Apple Mail in Dearmailo. Dearmailo only shows addresses Mail can actually use.
The selected sender changes in the Mail draft
Confirm the alias exists on this Mac and belongs to the active Mail account. Reconnect Mail, select the address again, and create a new draft.
A test message opens but is not sent
Do not click inside Mail while Dearmailo is preparing the message. Confirm Accessibility is enabled, close the draft, reconnect Mail, and try again. Include your macOS version when contacting support.
Contact import shows duplicates
Sort by the duplicate warning. Use automatic merge for complementary values, or edit/delete the rows manually when they contain conflicting information.
A scheduled campaign did not begin
The Mac must be awake with the user signed in and both Dearmailo and Apple Mail open. Check the selected time zone as well as the local date and time.
Still stuck?
Include the Dearmailo version, Mac model, macOS version, sender domain, and the exact step where the problem occurs. Never send us your email password or a customer list.
